Bethlehem Steel FC Head Coach Brendan Burke
Opening statement
“Gutted again because we should be up 3-0 at halftime and that has been the theme here at home. We’ve performed really, really well and guys have done everything we’ve asked them to do and we just have to keep at it. We’re generating high-quality goalscoring chances and we just have to convert them now. I’m not worried about the team at all, we have an excellent team and a really good, talented group of guys that are putting themselves in great positions. I don’t know what it is that will make it turn but once it turns, we’ll be really tough to beat.”

On if he could have done anything different to get the three points…
"It would have helped if we had a full complement of substitutes. You have an injury in the first half and a forced substitution at halftime on the rehab start so we were totally handcuffed in terms of making an impact with a substitution because we had to hang on in case of another injury so that’s why we held it to the 80th minute. That is just part of the project and you can’t get upset about that. In terms of how else we could have changed it, with the quality of goalscoring chances we created, I would have been stupid to change it.”

On if Steel FC is near the quality of a team like FC Cincinnati…
"I think we showed it in the first half and think that there is no way that we should have come in at halftime not up 3-0, at least 2-0. We let another one off the hook and it’s a gutting feeling but we have to figure out a way to move beyond it because the performances again have been everything that I would want.”

On Mike Catalano coming on as a first-half substitute due to injury…
“He did great because that is a difficult spot to come in as the center of the park against a tough and high-quality team like Cincinnati. I thought he met the challenge and then some, almost as good as a start for him and I  think it was a great job.”

Bethlehem Steel FC midfielder Derrick Jones
On the 1-1 draw against FC Cincinnati…
“I thought it was a very good game and it was a really  good performance but we have to stay on top of it when we’re leading so that we don’t give up easy goals.”

On the importance of showing with Bethlehem…
"It doesn’t matter if you get called here to play, you have to be ready and going just in case something happens [with the Union]. When they call you, you want to play so we come up here to play our best because we know it will help us be ready.”

Bethlehem Steel FC midfielder Santi Moar
On the 1-1 draw…
“It’s a disappointing result after the performance of the whole team, we have to be more clinical in the box and that’s on me first. Really disappointing because I think we were the better team against a really good Cincinnati but we can’t be satisfied with this result.”

On what changes can be made in training to jump-start the offense…
"We need to work on
finishing, because we’ve been better this year and created chances and put ourselves in good spots but we don’t finish the plays and that is the most important part in the game. We have to work on it and be better next time but I think the team is doing good but just have to be clinical in those spots.”

FC Cincinnati Head Coach Alan Koch
Opening statement
“We wanted to try and get all three points but I’m sure [Steel FC] wanted all three points too. Considering we went down and were down at halftime, we’ll take coming back from behind to get ourselves a point on the road to stay undefeated on the road too.”

On if he is disappointed with the result or happy to get a result on the road…
“Let’s give the Philadelphia Union club a lot of credit, obviously there are a lot of good players in their group and a lot of MLS players that played today and some very good USL players too so coming and playing here certainly isn’t an easy place to come in and play by any means. I thought we played very, very well and for most of the game today. I feel like were the better team and controlled a lot of the game. Having said that, [Steel FC] are very dangerous in transition and their athletic players are going to exploit you if you switch off for a second but our group is getting better. This is our fourth game of a very new team so it takes time but we are showing continual improvement. We haven’t put together the perfect 90 minutes so far but to get a point, we’ll take it.”

On the team handling a target on their back…
"I definitely think we have a target on our back and you saw that today because the Steel players were flying in and getting stuck in during the course of the game. They played very physically but that happens every team we play against and that’s just part of being the club that we are. It’s new for some of the players to get used to, playing with that element of pressure on us wherever we go but we’ve played three of our first four games out on the road, seven points out of nine on the road is a very good start in this league.”

FC Cincinnati defender Forrest Lasso
On the 1-1 draw…
“I think everyone is a little disappointed, every time you step on the pitch you want to get three points but from my experience anytime you can get a point on the road, that’s pretty big. Being able to come here in tough conditions against a tough squad with a lot of talent and get one point is a good thing. There are a lot of positives and we’re only four games in so that’s a lot to build on .”

On the team being unbeaten on the road…
“We put a target on our own backs and I think we do that because of the fans, the league and we embrace it. Being away from home, we try to stick to our system and how we play, obviously the opposition tends to make us vary how we play, but we have a style that we like to stick to and try to perform it to the best of our ability.”

FC Cincinnati midfielder Naz Albadawi
On getting the 1-1 draw and scoring in his debut…
“Happy to make my debut for FC Cincinnati and score a goal as well. Disappointed because I probably could have gotten another one and sealed the game for us but this is a very good team that we played away to so we’ll take the point on the road. Bethlehem is a good squad and had good opportunities as well so the game could have gone either way. We’ll take the point on the road in a difficult place to play. Overall, we’ll take it but we aren’t happy because we always want to win.”

On having to wait for his debut and then scoring…
“We have a very good squad and very deep squad and all of the guys are great which helps a lot. It’s my first time on a new team and a new league so I’ve been trying to adjust as hard as I can every day and it’s easy to do that when I have teammates like I do. I’ve just been working in training hoping that when I got the opportunity to help and I was happy to get a goal today.”
