Josh Heard made 16 appearances, which included two starts, in his second season with Bethlehem Steel FC in 2017. Heard made his season debut against HAR (4/15), coming on as a substitute. Came on as a defensive substitute against CIN (4/29) and against TOR (5/13) where he iced the game away by drawing a free kick late in the match. Against HAR (5/28) as a substitute, he set up an insurance goal by drawing a penalty kick. Heard collected his first start vs. PIT (7/15) as a central attacking midfield and played the full 90 minutes. He returned to the starting XI in a crucial match at Tampa Bay (9/30), playing the first half. Overall, Heard made 13 substitute appearances while part of the club’s matchday 18 for 11 matches. Over the club’s run to the postseason, Heard appeared in seven of the final 11 Steel FC matches and came on as a substitute in the club’s Eastern Conference Quarterfinal at Louisville in the second half.

Overall he saw 927 minutes of action while placing three shots on goal. Heard signed with Steel FC on Jan. 29, 2016 after a stellar career at the University of Washington.

Collegiate Experience:

A graduate from the University of Washington, Heard joins Bethlehem Steel FC after appearing in 74 games and starting 50 during his four seasons with the Huskies. During his senior season, Heard scored one goal and gave two assists and was named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. During his junior year in 2014, Heard started 18 games and scored seven goals while helping lead Washington to a 12-4-1 record and the No. 14 national seed in the 2014 Men’s College Cup. Was then selected by Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the fourth round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft with the No. 71 overall selection, but chose to sign with Steel FC.2012-2016:
